Forget About Enlightenment ~

by John Welwood

Forget about enlightenment.

Sit down wherever you are

And listen to the wind singing in your veins.

Feel the love, the longing, and the fear in your bones.

Open your heart to who you are, right now,

Not who you would like to be.

Not the saint you’re striving to become.

But the being right here before you, inside you, around you.

All of you is holy.

You’re already more and less

Than whatever you can know.

Breathe out, touch in, let go

I am delighted to be sharing another nurturing day retreat at The Earthship, within the exquisite Stanmer Park. A chance to immerse yourself in a day dedicated to cultivation compassion – a theme that will deepen our connection with ourselves, others, and the world we inhabit.

We will move through a series of practices including gentle yoga practice to awaken the body and mind; moving into a mediation on compassion to deepen into our theme. We will continue to nourish ourselves with a homemade vegan lunch, followed by time to enjoy the community and the area. Continuing our exploration we will venture on our woodland walk connecting with the trees and the natural world, deepening our understanding of our place within the web of life.

My intention is that the day is accessible and inclusive with a friendly community feel so that everybody is able to benefit from this practice.

Testimonials from the last event

"The gentleness of it all! How we moved from one thing to another with no expectations, allowing myself to be fully present, with my body, in such a beautiful place and guided by your soft, wise, humorous words. And of course, connecting with trees and nature in the woodland." " I felt very present and grounded by the end of the day. I know that I would like more days like this"

"I hope it’s the first of many Tammy. You’re very authentic, it’s easy to relax into your holding presence. Like you’re bringing all your years of learning and practise and wisdom to your teaching, and generously sharing it with us. I’m feeling better than I have in absolutely ages this morning! "

"the venue was amazing, the mix of yoga practice, delicious food, mindful walking in the woods and yoga nidra was just right. Really felt supported and nurtured. Tammy is so welcoming and gentle. The whole day flowed beautifully. I felt like I was cared for and thought about. Which felt really good!
