Do you find life can be stressful and it’s hard to take time for yourself, which then affects your relationship to yourself and others? That you're often thinking about the past or catastrophising about the future...living in a virtual reality?

Well, the good news is it is possible to live in a kinder, more present way by appreciating what is here now,  which brings more compassion and joy into our lives.

The theme of this workshop will be moving into presence, to appreciate what is here now. A time for you to move into a deeper sense of relaxation, rejuvenation, and calm. It's not about striking poses; it's about self-love, self-care, and finding joy in the present moment.

This act of undoing is profoundly calming and therapeutic and is known to significantly reduce stress and anxiety while promoting restful sleep. In this workshop we will move through a series of nourishing practices:

  • Gentle movement to support coming into the body, releasing tension, and preparing for the stillness of the restorative postures.

  • Soothing sounds from Tibetan singing bowls, chimes and the hang drum to support moving into a deeper sense of calm.

  • Pranayama (breathwork) and sound - to activate the vagus nerve and balance the nervous system.

  • Restorative postures where you will be supported by me using bolsters, blocks, and blankets to bring as much comfort as possible. Creating your own little cocoon, allowing your body to unwind and completely relax. When your body feels cared for and the mind can let go, we unlock our potential to restore and renew.

This workshop is held in an inclusive and trauma-sensitive way, with everything optional. It is suitable for everybody. You can be a seasoned yogi or a new to the practice - everyone is welcome – just bring yourself, an open heart, and a willingness to slow down and be kind to yourself.

This is an opportunity to cultivate a more kind compassionate heart and create space from the constant fluctuations of the mind. A chance to truly take care of yourself as we move through the depths of winter.

I’m really happy to hear from you if you have any questions about this workshop or the practice. Hope to see you then. Held at:
About Balance Brighton, 20-22 Gloucester Place, Brighton,  BN1 4AA.
Cost £30.  Book here or at About Balance

Testimonials

"Thank you for creating a really welcoming, lighthearted, supportive space. I loved how you individualised the restorative poses for our different bodies, and had all those props on hand to be super comfortable. I was surprised how much I loved the sounds you created too...really meditative and a great way to bring back my mind whenever it wandered!"

"Thank you so much for a lovely couple of hours, and yes an unusually good night's sleep afterwards!!"

“My first try of restorative yoga. I enjoyed the gentle pace and the feeling of relaxation that I got from really resting in the supported postures. Tammy looked after us all beautifully and I came away with a greater sense of calm than I had on the way in. ”

"I have been raving about it and you ever since too to everyone! I loved the workshop, your wise words, the poems, all of it..."
